8 Open House Tips

Photobucket

  1. Advertise in your daily newspaper. Write colorful, descriptive ads and place them in picture classifieds or open house directories.
  2. Set out Open House directional signs.
  3. Remove all vehicles from the driveway.
  4. Open all the drapes, blinds and window coverings -- let in that light! Read this article for more home staging tips.
  5. Turn on every light in the house.
  6. Turn on soft music.
  7. Have available four-color flyers filled with photos, financing options with monthly mortgage payment information, and a Comparative Market Analysis.
  8. And finally, ask for feedback!

Those are all great tips...I also love to have a bowl of candy set out for people to take..I place it next to the sign in sheet...People feel like they got something just for showing up..Also if I have extra decorating magazine I keep them out for people to take a look at or take home with them.  I make sure to staple my Business card to it so they think of me again later...

Christina, great tips, this is a good start for agents who want to hold open houses.  It's great if you can have something yummy baking in the oven, such as cookies!
