New construction sales nationally rose 11% in June 2009, the largest increase since 2000. The rise in sales is far better than economists predicted. The big spike in June new home sales is highest in the Midwest and West. Locally, in Dayton, Ohio existing home sales rose in June 2009 also. The home sales increase is a good sign that the entire United States economy is turning around.
